¿Apartamento o Habitación?
Siempre te aconsejamos conseguir una habitación compartiendo piso en vez de un aparta-estudio para ti solo por varias razones:
– Estas de intercambio para compartir y conocer más personas y compartir piso puede ser un excelente primer paso para empezar a relacionarte con la gente
– Un aparta estudio amoblado te puede salir súper costoso y es dinero que podrías gastar en viajes o fiestas
– Los aparta estudios suelen ser chiquitos y compartiendo piso podrías vivir en una casa súper grande con mucho espacio, una terraza, hasta un jardín para disfrutar al máximo del clima de Medellín!
¿Agencia o Particulares?
Arrendar un alojamiento en una agencia siempre es bastante complicado y más para un extranjero, te piden contrato de trabajo, fiador y un deposito muy importante. Por eso siempre te aconsejamos arrendar con particulares o plataformas que te relacionan con ellos.

Tu universidad :
Seguramente tu universidad esta en contacto con dueños de casas y apartamentos, no dudes en preguntarles! Pero explora también las otras pistas para tener un máximo de opciones y poder conseguir el alojamiento de tus sueños.
Grupos Facebook :
Hay muchos anuncios de piso/apartamentos en Facebook! Puedes buscar grupos como «amoblados Medellin» o grupos especiales para la comunidad extranjera como «Gringopaisa» o «Francais et francophones a Medellín» si hablas francés o cualquier grupo que corresponda a tu comunidad en Medellín!
Siempre te aconsejamos hacer una visita para asegurarte que todo esta en orden.

Es una plataforma donde los dueños de casa postean anuncios de apartamentos, casas y donde puedes entrar en relación con ellos! La página es bastante cómoda y los alojamientos suelen ser económicos! Pero los alojamientos no son verificados así que asegúrate que correspondan al anuncio
Airbnb :
No es la opción más económica pero la gran ventaja es que tu decides cuánto tiempo quieres comprometerte! Así que es una buena opción para tener un alojamiento cuando llegues y poder tomar el tiempo de buscar el alojamiento de tus sueños. Puedes también alojarte en un hostal para tus primeros días, tienes muchas opciones en la plataforma hostalworld.

Tellanto es un grupo de casas grandes para estudiantes internacionales, hay más de 100 habitaciones en la ciudad y lo mejor es que todas estan conectadas! Tellanto te permite alojarte pero tambien conocer mucha gente chevere y tener una comunidad apenas llegas a Medellín!
¿En dónde vivir en Medellín?
Hasta ahora sabemos cómo se dice un Medellín, pero…. ¿Dónde alojarse en la ciudad? No te preocupes ¡te guiamos!
Los barrios que sugerimos son lugares donde puedes sentir la vibra local, probar comida local, y lo mejor del lugar es que estarás siempre seguro.
Laureles:
El barrio de Laureles es uno de los lugares más popular de Medellín para quienes lo visitan por primera vez. Es un barrio seguro y muy verde. Además, no es tan caro como el Poblado (hablaremos de ello más adelante). Por la noche el barrio se ilumina, es colorido, podrás probar deliciosa comida local e incluso de otros países, como México, Perú, Argentina, etc.
Por último, pero no menos importante, Laureles está muy cerca del estadio Atanasio Girardot donde los equipos de fútbol juegan sus partidos, este lugar también está al lado de la «La 70» que es una calle muy famosa donde verás muchos clubes y bares.
El Poblado:
El Poblado cuenta con innumerables clubes en la famosa zona de Provenza y Parque Lleras. Un barrio verde con unas de las mejores vistas de las montañas. El alojamiento aquí es más caro que en Laureles.
El Poblado es un barrio donde se puede ver una gran mezcla de culturas. Por otro lado, Poblado está cerca de La Universidad EAFIT.
La familia MIEO suele ir al Poblado a divertirse. Lo visitarás !tenlo por seguro!
Belén:
Belén está ubicado cerca de Laureles. Como todos los lugares que sugerimos para vivir, Belén es un barrio muy bonito y tranquilo, hay otra atracción famosa llamada «Pueblito Paisa», es la réplica de un pueblo tradicional antioqueño, el lugar es muy verde, fresco y colorido. Belén también es más barato que el Poblado.
Sugerimos vivir en este barrio porque encontrarás muchos lugares para disfrutar de una agradable charla con tus amigos y conocer gente local.
Otro dato importante es que en Belen queda cerca a la Universidad de Medellín

Apartment or Room?
We will always suggest you to find a room in shared apartment instead of taking a studio Apartment/Aparment for yourself for several reasons:
-You are in exchange to share and meet more people. A shared apartment is an excellent first step to start interacting with new people in the city.
-A studio apartment/Apartment can become too expensive and it’s money you can spend on travels or parties.
-Studio apartments are usually small, however, taking a shared space, you could be living in a really big house, with a lot of space, a terrace or even a garden to enjoy the Medelli´s climate when it is not raining.
Agency or Individuals?
Renting with an agency is always complicated and even more for a foreigner. They will ask for an employment contract, a guarantor and a very expensive deposit. That is why we always advise you to rent with individuals or on platforms where you can have contact with them.
How and where? Relax…. We are gonna tell you everything about it!
Your University:
Your university might be in touch with the owners of the houses and apartments, do not hesitate to ask them! However, explore different places to get maximum options to have the accommodation of your dreams.
It’s a platform where the owners of the house post ads for apartments, houses. Through this platform you are able to contact them! The webpage is so comfortable and the accommodations are usually cheap! But they are not verified so make sure the accomodations match the advertisement.

This is not the cheapest option, but the advantage is you decide how long you want to be there! So this is the best option to take once you arrive because you will have more time to look for the accommodation of your dreams. You can also stay in a hostel for your first days in the city. Where to stay in Medellín?

The neighborhoods we suggest are places where you can experience the local vibe, you can taste the local food, and the best thing is you will be alwsay safe.
Laureles:
The Laureles neighborhood is one of the the most popular places in Medellín for first-time visitors. It is a safe and very green neighborhood. Besides that, is not really expensive as Poblado( We will talk about it later). At night the neighborhood lights up, colorful, you will be able to taste delicious local food and even food from other countries, such as México, Perú, Argentina, etc.
Last but not least, Laureles is really near to Atanasio Girardot stadium where football teams play their matches, this place is also next to the «La 70» which is a very famous street where you will see many clubs and bars.
Poblado:
El Poblado has countless clubs in the famous Provenza and Parque Lleras area. A green neighborhood with some of best views of the mountains. Accommodation here is more expensive than in Laureles, you will find everything from luxurious hostels to nice cheaper hostels. Poblado is a neighborhood where you can see a great mix of cultures. In other hands, Poblado is near La Universidad EAFIT.
MIEO familly usually go to Poblado to have fun. You will visit it, that is for sure!
Belén:
Belen is located close to Laureles. As all the places we suggest to live, Belén es really nice and quiet neighborhood, there is another famous attraction called «Pueblito Paisa», is the replica of a traditional Antioquia town, the place is very green, fresh and colorful. Belén is also cheaper than Poblado. We also suggest living in this neighborhood due to you will find so many places to enjoy a nice talk with you friends and meet local people.
Another important fact is that Belen is located very close to the Universidad de Medellín.
